TOLEDO FULL DAY
Experience the Charms of Toledo on a Full-Day Excursion: Guided Tour
ITINERARY:
- We’ll meet at the designated time on San Nicolás Street. From this central point in Madrid, we’ll board a bus bound for Toledo, a monumental gem located 70 kilometers south of the Spanish capital. Before arriving, we’ll make a stop so you can enjoy a coffee.
- Toledo, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the oldest cities in Europe and is known as the City of Three Cultures, where Christians, Muslims, and Jews coexisted. Exploring its historic center, we’ll encounter buildings representing Gothic, Mudéjar, Renaissance, and Baroque styles.
- Some of the places we’ll visit during the tour include the Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes, where you can stroll through the cloisters of its courtyard; the Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca and its Mudéjar art museum; and the Church of Santo Tomé, home to El Greco’s masterpiece, “The Burial of the Count of Orgaz.”
- Next, we’ll visit the Mosque of Cristo de La Luz, built in the 10th century during the golden age of the Caliphate of Córdoba. After this visit, those who have chosen the tour with lunch option can enjoy Toledo’s cuisine with a delicious tapas menu. If you haven’t chosen the lunch option, you’ll have free time for lunch.
- In the afternoon, we’ll regroup to enter the Toledo Cathedral together and discover the masterpieces of art housed in the Primate Cathedral of Spain. Then, we’ll take a panoramic tour of Toledo, admiring the exterior architecture of some monuments and reaching the Valle Viewpoint, where we’ll enjoy the best panoramic view of Toledo.
- After eight hours of activity, we’ll bid farewell upon reaching Plaza de Oriente in Madrid.
